Clubs encouraged to complete Club Health Tracker after ‘hugely positive’ feedback

The Swim England Club Health Tracker has received ‘hugely positive’ feedback and clubs have been encouraged to take up the opportunity, with the first deadline approaching.

The tracker is available for all aquatics clubs and supports them with continuous improvements within six core areas of club development – coaching and teaching, financial management, pool operator relationships, governance and standards, growth, and volunteering.

Clubs who haven’t yet completed the tracker will receive a reminder email which will include their log-in details.

Once logged in to the platform, guidance on how to complete the tracker can be found via the ‘About’ and ‘FAQs’ tabs.

The opportunity to complete the tracker in year one closes on Wednesday 22 March.

One of the clubs benefitting from completing the tracker is Satellites Swimming Club in Macclesfield.

The club’s secretary, Nicola Ireland, said: “Having only recently been elected as secretary of Satellites Swimming Club, the Club Health Tracker has provided me with an excellent opportunity to gain a valuable insight into the management, membership and organisation of the swimming club.

“Through having detailed conversations with fellow executive officers, the head coach and experienced committee members, I was able to acquire an understanding of a variety of key aspects of the club such as the current financial position, relationship with pool operators and what the priorities of the club are in the short, medium and long term.

“The format of the tracker was easy to access and the options provided for the responses ensured that completion was straightforward.

“The immediate turnaround of the results was much appreciated, the results and data were easy to interpret and the comparisons to other swimming clubs in the North West and nationally has helped to validate that the club is currently in a very promising position.”

Bespoke one-to-one club development support

Alice Fairhall, Swim England club development project officer, explained that as well as helping clubs, the tracker also helps the national governing body to focus support in key areas.

She said: “The feedback we have received from clubs so far has been hugely positive.

“Clubs are reporting back that they particularly like the benchmarked results and the offer of additional support.

“Although no other club can see your results, we will be taking time to read through all responses and offering bespoke one-to-one club development support where wanted.

“I encourage all clubs to complete the tracker. It’s not only a helpful tool for your club but also provides invaluable insight to us at Swim England, which will help us see trends and focus our resources in key areas.”
