Swim England's clubs encouraged to complete 'Return to Water' survey

Swim England is reissuing its ‘Return to Water’ survey in an effort to better support clubs and help navigate them through their return to training following the easing of the third national lockdown.

The survey will be sent via email to key club officers on Thursday 15 April, who will then be asked to answer questions relating to pool access, potential challenges they are facing and the impact the Covid-19 pandemic has had on their club.

All of Swim England’s affiliated clubs are being encouraged to fill out the survey – which will take approximately 10 minutes to complete – as it will allow the recognised national governing body to build a regional and national picture of how aquatics clubs are faring.

The survey was first issued following the initial lockdown last year and is part of a wider effort by Swim England to understand the ongoing impact the pandemic is having on its clubs.

More than 700 clubs completed the survey in 2020.

‘Support is our priority’

Andy Jack, Swim England’s club and operator relationship manager, said: “Supporting our clubs has been and continues to be an absolute priority for us.

“The pandemic has created unprecedented challenges for our community and now, as the national lockdown eases, we are encouraging all clubs to respond to this survey so we can target our support to those clubs that need it.

“The Swim England Development Team will then work closely with Regional Teams to offer appropriate club support – whether it be helping to source pool time in alternative facilities, strategic planning, or to resolve existing challenges.”

Clubs can update their survey responses more than once and are urged to do so should their situation changes. If you have any queries, please email clubdevelopment@swimming.org
