Entries open for Swim England Water Polo National Age Group Championships 2020

Teams can now enter the Swim England Water Polo National Age Group Championships 2020.

Basildon Sporting Village has been confirmed as the host for the U17s and U19s boys and girls finals across Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 May.

The preliminary and qualifying rounds will be played throughout March and April, with the first fixtures taking place on Saturday 7 March at Matlock.

Matches will run until a week before the finals weekend, with the last qualifiers being played on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 April at Lancaster Salt Ayre Leisure Centre.

Those beaten in the preliminaries will compete in the plate competition on the same weekend and at the same venue as the finals, the full schedule can be found here.

The entry pack can now be downloaded and teams can submit their entries for the championships before the closing date of 12 noon on Wednesday 12 February 2020.

Last year’s championships, held at Ponds Forge in Sheffield, saw City of Sheffield clinch the U17 girls national title after they eased past City of Liverpool 18-9.

The U17 boys’ crown went to West London Penguin, who came from behind to beat City of Manchester 9-8 in a thrilling final.

In the U19s fixtures, Otter successfully defended the girls’ title with a 14-8 win over Rotherham Metro.

Newton Abbot maintained an early lead to take gold in the boys’ competition following a 10-7 triumph over City of Manchester.
