Gravesend and Northfleet Swimming Club (GNSC) in Kent is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, suitably qualified Level 2 Coach to join our family-orientated swimming club based at Cygnet Leisure Centre Gravesend. We are a SwimMark accredited club and develop swimmers from 3 ½ years old through our Learn to Swim programme. These swimmers are then selected, depending upon their ability, to progress through to our squads.

At GNSC we aspire to be inclusive and are looking for a coach to motivate young swimmers in our Bronze squad.  As a club, we are constantly looking to encourage our swimmers to achieve their goals in a nurturing environment. Our new Coach will be expected to work well as part of our coaching team and must have good communication skills. We are looking for a Coach who will ensure that our swimmers are inspired to work hard and are provided with clear feedback. The Coach will be expected to identify the squad swimmers and to adapt the training sessions to support them in preparation for entering events appropriate for their abilities.

The right candidate must have a Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate or ASA Level 2 Coaching Award and be flexible with attending galas at weekends and covering all sessions. Bronze Squad swims six hours a week over four sessions.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Be confident in preparing and delivering training sessions.
  • Be approachable and work well as part of a team.
  • Liaise with the Head Coach on all swimming matters.
  • Support and mentor squad members.

Requirements:

  • Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate or ASA Level 2 Coaching Award Qualification
  • Valid DBS check
  • Valid Safeguarding Certificate
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • References will be required
