If you enjoy swimming then synchronised swimming with its mix of music, dance and gymnastics could really give you a boost.
Track down your nearest synchro club with our Pool Finder and ask them about taster sessions.Synchronised swimming (synchro) is a great way to boost your swimming as you need strength, flexibility and endurance in order to perform the routines in, and under, water.
It is a challenging sport so you need to be completely comfortable being under the water and not just on it.
It’s a mixture of swimming, dance and gymnastics and swimmers perform a synchro routine to music on their own, in duets, trios, or teams.
Getting involved
Anyone who wants to try it should contact their local synchronised swimming club and go to an adult taster session.
The taster session will normally last about an hour and you’ll learn the basics of synchro such as swimming to music, speed swimming and sculling.
