
Routine Grade 2
January 9, 2017The Swim England Artistic Swimming Routine Grade 2 focuses on basic entry, travel and hybrids in artistic swimming.
Swimmers will be required to perform 10 elements to judges. Each grade has three levels (gold, silver and bronze) so all athletes have the ability to perfect their figures before moving to the next grade.

10 Elements to Artistic Swimming Routine Grade 2
- WALK ON AND ENTRY – Walk on with good posture, dive entry, two breaststrokes to the surface and surface in eggbeater.
- EGGBEATER – Eggbeater for 10 metres, 5 metres with one side leading arm raised, turn and continue for 5 metres opposite side leading no arm raised.
- HEADFIRST BOOST – Headfirst boost and descent (starting from underwater – arms to remain by side).
- TRANSITIONS – SCULLING AND PROPULSION – Dolphin scull for 5 metres.
- TRANSITIONS – PROPULSION AND BALLET LEGS – Kick pull kick over to metronome for 15 metres (160bpm).
- THRUST – TB – Thrust with two legs followed by crash.
- SPIN – SB – Basic spin 180º.
- ROTATIONS – RB – Basic swirl 180º.
- AIRBORNE WEIGHT – A1a – Lift to fishtail position from front pike.
- FLEXIBILITY – F2a – Walk out front (to breath).
