Virtual artistic swimming judge exams to take place in early 2022

A number of artistic swimming judge exams are set to take place virtually in 2022 in an effort to make them as accessible as possible.

Artistic swimming judges from across the country will be able to take part in both Judge 2 and Judge 3 courses which are to be held in January, February and March 2022.

Judges are essential to the sport as they allow for competitions to be scored based on the performances in each routine.

They are also responsible for marking grade level assessments which is another key element within the competitive development of athletes.

Hannah Secher, workforce development lead for the English Artistic Swimming Leadership Team, is the tutor for the courses.

She said: “We are offering this training to ensure that clubs, the regions and our sport can get back up and running again at full speed.

“Pools have reopened, swimmers are training and grade assessments and competitions have returned and are happening in person.

“Offering these courses virtually will hopefully mean that it is accessible to as many judges across the country as possible, and give as many judges the opportunity to further their judging experience.”
