Synchro team announced for Baku 2015 European Games

The British Olympic Association (BOA) have announced the synchronised swimming team for the Baku 2015 European Games.

The event will be the inaugural staging of the Games, taking place in the Azerbaijan capital city.

The 10 English synchronised swimmers will be part of a 153-strong Team GB squad that will compete across 13 sports at the continent’s inaugural multi-sport European Games.

The European Games will be a great opportunity for the athletes to experience what it is like to compete at a multi-sport event.

The synchronised swimming competition takes place at the new Baku Aquatics Centre between 12 – 16 June. Medals will be available across solo, duet, team and free combination events.

ASA Synchro lead Karen Thorpe said: “We were pleased with the performances in the qualification competition in Istanbul earlier this year. Securing bronze in the Team event was a great confidence boost and showed how hard the athletes have been training.

“The European Games will be a great opportunity for the athletes to experience what it is like to compete at a multi-sport event. We’re looking forward to showcasing some great English talent.”
