Bristol dominate 2016 championships

City of Bristol led the way at the ASA National Synchro Champs 2016, taking three out of five gold medals on offer.

They claimed the top spot in the Free Duet Routine thanks to ASA Aquatics Award winners, Kate Shortman and Isabelle Thorpe.

Shortman also claimed a second gold in the Free Solo routine. She took her first senior title thanks to a dramatic and well executed routine. Bristol’s final gold came in the Technical Routine. Bristol won the Redwood Trophy for the highest combined Technical and Free Team routines.

Rushmoor SSC were also in the mix, claiming two gold, two silvers and a bronze medal. Their two gold medals came in the Free Combination Routine and the Free Team Routine. Rushmoor’s Jodie Cowie received the trophy for Synchronised Swimmer of the Year.
