Lloyd and Hampson secure first title for Bristol

Danielle Lloyd and Greta Hampson won gold in the 15-18yrs Duet event at the Swim England Synchro National Age Group Championships 2017 in Gloucester.

This was the first gold medal for their club, scoring an impressive 69.7000 for the title. They swam an energetic routine to Aila Re Aila by Daler Mehndi.

The Bristol duo used the pool space well, and impressed the judges with their synchronisation.

The pair were seeded first after their Figures performance, and they continued their good form in the duet. They took the title with 138.3849.

Hampson said: “It feels great to get gold. We’ve worked so hard over the last few months so it’s nice to see it all come together.”

Lloyd added: “We didn’t expect to win the medal. We’ve never competed as a Duet before, and we were really happy with the routine because we choreographed it ourselves.”

Rushmoor take two podium places

Celina Dembinska-Kenner and Danielle Cooper, and Rosie Gunn and Victoria Usher made up the final spots on the podium.

Dembinska-Kennner and Cooper were only marginally behind the Bristol pair. They added 68.226 to their Figures score of 68.5545 to take the silver medal. Gunn and Usher followed up with 128.0152 for the bronze medal.
