Swim England announce event changes for 2023 National Masters Championships

The following update has been issued by Swim England’s Artistic Swimming Leadership Group (ASLG) regarding the 2023 Swim England Artistic Swimming National Masters Championships.

We are thrilled to see that the Masters Championships are continuing to thrive and grow, but the only downside of this is that completing the event in a day is becoming more difficult.

With the 2023 edition of the event being held on a Sunday, we acknowledge that many competitors have to travel home after a long day of competition and we want to ensure this is reflected in our event scheduling.

Therefore, the ASLG have decided that Technical Duets will not be included in this year’s programme. This is to reduce both the burden on swimmers to prepare and compete in two routines and to ease pressure on the timetable. Free Duets will however remain part of the programme.

Time limits and technical elements will remain unchanged for 2023. For technical routines, white caps will be optional and competitors will be allowed to wear their hair gelled, but headdresses are not permitted.

Events and schedule

The provisional start time of competition is 9am and with the prospective finish of 4.30pm. Registration will commence from 7.30am and the first warm up will be at 8.30am.

The provisional schedule of events for the Swim England Artistic Swimming National Masters Championships is as follows:

  • 09:00am Free Solo
