City of Birmingham and City of Salford dominate the top spots on day one
March 15, 2025Six of the seven gold medals on day one of the GoCardless Swim England Artistic Swimming National Age Group and Youth Championships 2025 were shared between two clubs – City of Birmingham and City of Salford.
The City of Birmingham claimed four of those golds in the 12 & Under Figures, the 9-10 Figures, the 12 & Under Free Mixed Duet and 12 & Under Free Combination events.
City of Birmingham coach, Zoe Reeve, described it as a ‘golden day’ for the club.
She said: “We’ve had lots of tears, from the coaches and the swimmers.
“We’re just completely overwhelmed. We’ve just been focusing on their performance – not necessarily thinking about medals – so it’s been a really lovely surprise.”
One of those individual golds was won by Zoe’s son, Sebastian Reeve, who finished 10 points ahead of his competitors in the 9-10 Figures with a score of 58.5217.
Teal Sutton was the gold medallist in the 12 & Under Figures, before the pair then teamed up to score a winning total of 195.2058 in the 12 & Under Mixed Free Duet.
City of Salford finished on top in the Youth Figures as Lena Ramanah-Beck successfully defended her national title.
She racked up 73.6303 points to earn the gold medal once again before joining her teammates for an impressive display in the Youth Combo event.
The gold medal not claimed by City of Birmingham or the City of Salford was the 12 & Under Free Duet.
That event saw City of Leeds duo, Alana Hurst and Florence Tallant, stun the crowd with their Wicked inspired routine which scored 159.0204.
