Rugby and Rushmoor win team trophies at National Age Group and Youth Champs
March 16, 2025The two team trophies on offer at this year’s GoCardless Swim England Artistic Swimming National Age Group and Youth Championships were won by Rugby and Rushmoor respectively.
Rugby were awarded the Mrs Y M Price Trophy for the first time following a fantastic display in the Youth Free Team event.
The trophy, which is awarded to the team with the highest combined figure and free routine score in the 13/14 Years age group, was presented to the fantastic four of Frankie Klym, Keva Ennis, Lola Huett and Molly Doolin.
The overall score following their final swim of the competition stood at 235.0849 – more than 20 points clear of their nearest competitors.
Meanwhile, Rushmoor were on hand to clinch the Richard Whitehead Trophy after they finished on top in the 12 & Under Free Team event.
It was a much closer affair this time around, with the Hampshire-based club edging out the City of Leeds by just over two points to finish on 148.9418.
There was also an individual trophy up for grabs this weekend – the prestigious Shacklock Trophy – which was retained by the City of Bristol’s Hannah Gibbons.
This trophy is presented to the swimmer who has the highest total score across solo, duet, free team and free combination.
After clinching the trophy in 2024, Gibbons was the worthy winner yet again just over 12 months on, as she helped her club claim two silver medals.
