Randall and Cowie set record tallies in Tokyo

While their England Talent teammates have been battling it out at the senior nationals in Gloucester, number one duet pair Genevieve Randall and Jodie Cowie have put in some impressive performances at the Japan Open event in Tokyo.

The English pair – supported by reserve Emma Critchley in Japan – scored 75.6821 for their Tech routine on the opening day.

The Brits’ score was a jump of more than 3.5 points from their last competitive Tech routine when they scored 72.1442 at last year’s European Championships in Berlin.

More improvement in Free Routine prelims

Randall and Cowie matched their improvement in the Free routine preliminaries, improving on their previous best of 75.8667 from the European Games qualifiers earlier this season to score 78.4667 in Tokyo to place 12th overall on 154.1488 and secure their spot in the final.

And the Brits improved again in the Free routine final, scoring 78.9333 to finish ninth overall and fourth out of the international entries.
