Swim England launch free webinar series for outdoor swimming community

Swim England have launched a series of free webinars focused on outdoor swimming.

The sessions will aim to inspire and engage those who are interested in finding out more about swimming outdoors or returning to the activity.

Some topics of discussion will be key safety advice, both the health and social benefits, where to swim and what to wear as well as much more.

In addition to being available at no cost, the webinars are also open to everyone but on a first come, first served basis.

There are currently three sessions available to book on to, the first of which takes place on Tuesday 6 April.

Gaby Hay, head of membership development, said: “We are excited to host this series of webinars and we look forward to engaging with the outdoor swimming community.

“Our introductory sessions will help those who want to get involved in the activity but are maybe unsure where to start, and they will include a lot of key safety information and top tips.

“The question and answer sessions will provide a great opportunity to speak with some experts in this area to hear their stories and share their knowledge.”

To support the information in this series, Swim England recently launched an outdoor pool venue finder to work alongside the existing open water venue finder.

The series is led by the national governing body and supported by the Outdoor Swimmer Magazine.

  • Wednesday 7 April – 1-2pm – Introduction to Outdoor Swimming
