Greta Hampson dominates as she wins second gold

Greta Hampson continued her dominance of the Swim England Synchronised Swimming National Age Group Championships 15-18 category with another golden performance in the solo event.

The City of Bristol swimmer, who beat her team-mate Daniella Lloyd to the figures title, scored 73.6000 to top the podium for a second time.

She said: “That was the last time that I’ll swim that solo – I’ve loved swimming it.

“It’s got so much expression behind it and character. The music is really strong and I really love swimming it.

“I was a bit nervous before but I just tried to focus on swimming it with pizzazz and knew if I did that, it would be fine.”

Hampson was 2.6000 clear of Lloyd, who had to settle for her second silver of the championships.

Rugby’s Laura Ribeiro da Cunha picked up the bronze medal with a solo score of 68.3667.

Hampson’s overall score is 145.2925, with Lloyd on 142.1972 and Ribeiro da Cunha on 136.6450.
