Reading Royals seal Free Combo gold at Synchro Nationals

Reading Royals capped off the opening day of the 2019 Swim England Synchronised Swimming National Championships with victory in the Free Combination.

Reading Royals A were the first team in the pool and set what proved to be an unassailable total of 71.700 – the only team to break the 70-point barrier.

Their score is just greater than Rushmoor’s winning mark at the 2018 National Championships, when Reading won the silver medal.

It proved a fruitful day for Reading, who earlier claimed a one-two in the Tech Duet.

City of Bristol picked up their second medal of the day, winning silver with 69.4000 points.

Daniella Lloyd backed up from her silver medal performance in the Free Solo as Bristol made an impressive return to the Free Combination, having not featured in the competition last year.

City of Leeds A won the bronze medal, with the team featuring GB squad members Daisy Rushton, Greta Hampson, Isobel Davies, Millie Costello and Olivia Burton claiming 67.7000 points.
