Squad Coach

Godalming Swimming Club based in Surrey is looking to recruit a suitably qualified coach on a part-time basis. We are looking for an enthusiastic coach to join the existing coaching team and take a lead role in developing a competitive squad of swimmers.

Role: This is a self-employed part-time role working approximately 7 hours per week poolside plus administrative duties and gala attendance.

Location: Godalming Leisure Centre

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate/ASA Level 2 Coaching Award
• Valid Swim England safeguarding certificate
• Valid/clean DBS check
• Right to work in the UK

Skills Required and Responsibilities:

• Work with the coaches to deliver the development programme/annual plan.
• Manage the swimming programme for your squad and plan and deliver training sessions which align with the development programme/annual plan.
• Work with your swimmers to set individual targets and support them to achieve these.
• Motivate and inspire swimmers to achieve their full potential.
• Excellent coaching skills and experience of coaching in appropriate swimming and coaching areas.
• A willingness to attend weekend events to support all swimmers.
• Sound planning and administration skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
• Attend regular meetings with coaches and poolside helpers.
• Provide cover and support to other coaches and squads where required.
• Competitive swimming experience would be desirable.
