Rugby and Salford shine as day one of the NAG and Youth Champs concludes

Day one of the Swim England Artistic Swimming National Age Group and Youth Championships 2026 showcased an impressive spread of talent. Rugby SC and City of Salford particularly stood out thanks to several standout results across the different events.

Rugby opened the day with a major victory in the Youth Figures, where Victoria Sharashkina scored 74.2425 to edge Rushmoor’s Renee Coleman, who finished close behind on 74.1666. City of Salford’s Eleanor Burlinson completed the podium with 69.3182.

The 11–12 Figures title went to City of Birmingham’s Sebastian Reeve, whose performance earned 67.7823, while Tess Burlinson took silver for City of Salford with 66.3111 and Roisin Finglass added another Birmingham medal with 64.3244.

In the youngest category, the 9–10 Figures, Elizabeth Yuan of the London Regional squad topped the rankings with 57.7245, ahead of Rushmoor duo May Taylor (55.0711) and Alana Wong (55.0223).

Rugby strengthened their position in the afternoon duets. Frankie Kylm and Lola Huett delivered a confident routine worth 217.0017 to win the Youth Free Duet title, finishing ahead of City of Salford’s Eleanor Burlinson and Zofia Holyniewska on 209.2761. Rushmoor’s Hannah Cashin and Renee Coleman added a bronze with a score of 195.5960.

Rugby added a second duet win in the Youth Mixed Duet, where Keva Ennis, Aaron Lee and Christina Kapiris secured gold with 183.6725. City of Leeds claimed silver through Beau Spence and Salvador Ingham on 176.4515, while Reading Royals’ Romilly McQuillan and Callum Wilding earned bronze with 170.4450.

In between the events, Olympic silver medallists Isabelle Thorpe and Kate Shortman performed their brand‑new Tech Duet, followed by Isabelle and Ranjuo Tomblin, who showcased their Free Duet that recently won them gold at the first leg of the World Cup.

Day one in Gloucester concluded with the 12&U and Youth Free Team Combinations. In the 12&U category, City of Salford delivered a confident routine to win the title with a total of 134.1879. City of Leeds followed in second place on 129.0281 and London Regional completed the podium, scoring 118.0673.

The Youth Free Combinations were dominated by City of Salford, scoring a commanding 141.8783 to secure the win. Rugby claimed the silver medal with 120.8908, while Rushmoor completed the podium with 119.3345.
