Nation's best go for gold as Nottingham hosts 2025 National Championships

The nation’s best artistic swimmers will be going for national glory this weekend as Nottingham hosts the GoCardless Swim England Artistic Swimming National Championships 2025.

The meet is the highest level of domestic competition for English artistic swimmers and features some of the top young athletes from all four corners of the country.

From Gateshead to Portsmouth, 21 different clubs are heading to the Harvey Hadden Sports Village for two days of exciting action on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 April.

Hundreds of swimmers are preparing for this year’s competition where they’ll be competing for national titles across solo, duet and team events. Eight different events will be taking place in the Midlands where some of Swim England’s most prestigious trophies will also be up for grabs.

It all kicks off with the Technical Solo competition on Saturday morning followed by the Acrobatic event – which returns after its debut 12 months ago.

Duet and team events highlight both afternoon sessions with the Technical Team concluding the action on Sunday where this year’s Redwood Trophy winners will be decided.

You can keep up with all the action by following our live scoreboard here with regular updates available on Swim England’s social media channels.

Great Britain’s best in attendance

Amongst the competitors in Nottingham are a host of members on England and Great Britain’s senior, Youth and Junior squads.

That includes the likes of European champion Ranjuo Tomblin, who swims in both the Free Solo and Mixed Duet alongside partner Holly Hughes.

The duo took Technical Mixed Duet World Cup gold in Paris earlier this year and will be looking to showcase their free routine for the first time in 2025.

Also taking to the pool in Nottingham are the GB duet of Eve Young and Robyn Swatman. Like Tomblin and Hughes, they’ll be jetting off to Canada next week for the next leg of the World Aquatics World Cup and will be looking to go into the competition with more national gold to their name.

They all be back representing their home clubs this time around as they do battle to secure the coveted Redwood Trophy.

City of Salford took home the award for the first time in 2024, which is awarded to the club with the highest scores from the Technical and Free Team routines.

They can call on a number of their swimmers that helped them secure that trophy this weekend, including the top two in last year’s Holland Trophy standings in defending champion Sophie Flemming and runner-up Sophie Rowney.

Reports from the competition will be on the Swim England website and anyone who hasn’t yet purchased their spectator tickets can get there’s in Nottingham throughout the weekend.
