Olivia Federici and Izzy Thorpe feature in past and present series

If you want to hear from some amazing sportsmen and women from across all aquatic disciplines, make sure you keep an eye on the new Swim England video series.

‘Past and present’ will feature current and former athletes as they discuss training, career turning points and more.

Olivia Federici and Izzy Thorpe

Former artistic swimmer Olivia Federici and current GB athlete Izzy Thorpe are the first from their sport to appear on the new series.

Earlier this year, Thorpe was aiming to qualify for the Olympic Games for the first time in her career alongside duet partner, Kate Shortman.

Although the coronavirus pandemic resulted in the qualifying event being cancelled and the Games being delayed, the pair have said they will “come back even stronger in 2021.”

Federici has competed at the Olympics three times, in 2008, 2012 and 2016. She also claimed a silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

Watch the video below to hear the pair talk through some of their experiences.
