Reading go back-to-back with Free Duet gold

Isobel Blinkhorn and Cerys Larsen combined to help Reading Royals win back-to-back gold medals on the second day of the 2019 Swim England National Synchronised Swimming Junior and Senior Championships.

Both athletes had helped Reading win the Technical Team competition in the morning, before adding to their tally with victory in the Free Duet.

They were the only pair to break the 70-point barrier, setting a winning total of 70.4667 in the penultimate swim of the competition.

Reading have been a dominant force in Nottingham, winning four of the first six competitions.

Leeds grab silver

City of Leeds duet Millie Costello and Daisy Rushton were again on the podium, winning the silver medal with a score of 69.2333 points.

The pair were third in the Tech Duet on Saturday and also helped Leeds to bronze medals in both the Free Combination and Technical Team competitions.

City of Bristol’s Anna Sledge and Cerys Hughes were third in the Free Duet, finishing with 68.1333 to edge Reading Royals pair Beatrice Crass and Eleanor Blinkhorn.
