The Swim England Senior Coach Programme equips coaches with the tools to create and develop individualised programmes and optimise the performance levels of aspiring athletes, at both youth and senior level.
Applications for this year’s prestigious programme have been opened by the Institute of Swimming and Swim England Talent Team and looks to welcome 30 learners in September 2021.
The year-long programme is delivered through a mixture of learning days (both online and face to face), online learning, and practical poolside sessions. All coaches will be assigned a mentor who will support them through the programme.
The course will help support coaches and enable them to use current and innovative techniques to develop a holistic athlete development programme.
This, in turn, will help improve performance and keep athletes committed and motivated, while aligning with the clear messages set out in the Swim England Talent Pathway and Optimal Athlete Development Framework.
As well as focusing on the coaching programme, senior coaches will also work more collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team to create an environment in which athletes thrive.
