Prestigious Swim England Senior Swimming Coach Programme launches for 2023

The prestigious Swim England Senior Swimming Coach Programme has launched for 2023!

Swim England has announced that applications for the prestigious Senior Swimming Coach programme are now open for the 2023 intake. This fantastic one-year programme is designed to equip experienced Swim England Swimming Coaches with the skills and knowledge to create and deliver individualised development programmes for aspiring athletes.

The programme is delivered through a combination of an online webinar and face-to-face workshops in Loughborough. Coaches will be assigned a mentor to provide bespoke support throughout the course. Coaches will also complete a series of assessment tasks to ensure effective learning and development has taken place.

As well as focusing on the coaching programme, senior coaches will work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team to create a holistic environment in which athletes can thrive. This will involve key external and internal partners, including leisure service providers, the club committee, team managers, and various sports science and medicine practitioners.

Applications for the Swim England Senior Swimming Coach programme are open from 2nd May 2023 and need to be submitted by midnight on 22nd May 2023. Shortlisting will take place from the 2nd June 2023, and applicants will be notified if they have been successful on or after 6th June 2023.

There are up to 30 places available across England and Wales for this highly popular programme. Applicants will need to attending all sessions, including the induction day and all four learning days, as well as completing the programme within 12 months.
