Foundations of Inclusivity eLearning is available for FREE as part of UK Coaching Week’s Focus on Duty to Care

UK Coaching Week, an annual celebration of coaching excellence, is set to return from 5 to 11 June 2023. This year, the theme is “Duty to Care: The Foundation of Great Coaching.” The week-long event will emphasise the crucial role of coaches in promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.

UK Coaching recognises the significance of coaches having a comprehensive understanding of the six pillars underpinning exceptional coaching experiences. These pillars are Diversity, Inclusion, Mental Health and Well-being, Physical Well-being, Safeguarding, and Safe to Practice.

The Six Pillars are essential guidelines that coaches should adhere to when delivering coaching experiences. By providing equality of opportunity without discrimination, promoting tailored delivery to a wide range of audiences, supporting psychological and emotional well-being, encouraging physical activity and healthy habits, protecting individuals from harmful practices, and ensuring participant safety, coaches can create positive and enriching coaching experiences for all.

As part of our commitment to UK Coaching Week, we will be offering our Foundations of Inclusivity eLearning free of charge throughout the entire week, from 5 to 11 June 2023.

The Foundations of Inclusivity eLearning CPD aims to equip individuals with the necessary knowledge and tools to foster a change in mindset by embracing the social approach of inclusion in various environments.

The course introduces equality, diversity, and inclusion, covering topics such as the approach to inclusion, appropriate language usage, and the importance of adaptation.

This eLearning is suitable for a wide range of individuals, including educators, volunteers, officials, learners, teachers, coaches, athletes, and professionals from within and outside the leisure sector, aged 14 years and above.

During the course, participants will learn about applying the social approach of inclusion, identifying current and appropriate terminology, understanding the importance of adaptation, and discovering where to access additional support and guidance.

The Foundations of Inclusivity eLearning CPD is SEQ certified and a CIMSPA Endorsed CPD, earning participants 3.5 points towards their professional development.
