Introduction to Teaching Water Safety for Learn to Swim
The purpose of this CPD is to provide individuals with up to date knowledge regarding water safety competency and identify where water skills and knowledge are embedded within the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme.

Who is the CPD for?
The CPD is aimed at SEQ Level 2 Swimming Teachers, SEQ Level 1 Swim Assistant and Swim Coordinators delivering the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme.
Training format
This is a 3 hour CPD delivered online via Zoom.
Course content
During this session, you will:
- Understand how people drown
- Define water competency
- Identify the core aquatic skills and their importance in drowning prevention
- Describe where water safety is taught in the Learn to Swim programme
