The academy allows aspiring swimming teachers to receive all their training for only £85. It includes mentoring to support your development, and you’ll be matched with an employer.

• Practical volunteer placement in between courses

About 

Teaching Swimming is an active and rewarding role. Work hours are generally part-time including weekday evenings and weekends.

For these roles, there may be the opportunity to work at the following leisure centres:

Tarka Leisure Centre, Seven Brethren Bank, Barnstaple, North Devon EX31 2AS
Ilfracombe Leisure Centre, Hillsborough Road, Ilfracombe, North Devon EX34 9QG

Once qualified successful trainees will be employed as swimming teachers by Lex Leisure. A DBS check will be required prior to volunteer hours.

You don’t need any prior qualifications to apply as you will be supported through your training, although we are accepting applications from those who are halfway through their swimming teacher training or already have their level 1 or 2 qualifications.
