23% of children leave primary school unable to swim 25 metres unaided. For some children, if they don’t learn to swim at school, they will never learn this important lifesaving skill.

To help schools comply with national curriculum requirements, we have developed this free online resource with Swim England.

This free interactive resource introduces School Swimming and Water Safety with guidance on national curriculum standards and a summary of the core aquatic and safe self-rescue skills that all pupils should achieve.

In order to help you implement your school swimming programme, this free resource includes information on training opportunities and the School Swimming and Water Safety Awards Programme. This recognises the achievements of all pupils, from total beginner to the more advanced.
