The academy allows aspiring swimming teachers to receive all their training for only £85. It includes mentoring to support your development, and you’ll be matched with an employer.

About
Parkwood is looking to recruit a diverse community-based workforce to help meet the local demand for learn-to-swim programmes and is looking for aspiring swimming teachers who recognise the importance of learning this valuable lifesaving skill and have a passion for teaching others. Although you do not need to be a strong swimmer, you should have a basic level of water confidence.
Following successful completion of the programme, there will be the opportunity to work at one of the following centres:
- Jubilee Swimming Pool, Jubilee Road, Knowle, Bristol, BS4 2LP
- Backwell Leisure Centre, Farleigh Road, Backwell, North Somerset, BS48 3PB
Once qualified, successful trainees will be employed as paid swimming teachers on a casual or part-time basis. Hourly rates vary from £15.23 to £17 per hour. Employment is subject to passing an enhanced DBS check.

You don’t need any prior qualifications to apply as you will be supported through your training, although we are accepting applications from those who are halfway through their swimming teacher training or already have their level 1 or 2 qualifications.
