The academy allows aspiring swimming teachers to receive all their training for only £85. It includes mentoring to support your development, and you’ll be matched with an employer.

• Institute of Swimming Membership which includes over £100 worth of free e-learning.
• Practical volunteer placement
• Mentor to support the placement

About 

Following successful completion of the programme there will be the opportunity to work at the following pools:

• Stafford Leisure Centre, 1 Lammascote Rd, Stafford ST16 3TA
• Stone Leisure Centre, Stafford Rd, Stone ST15 8QW

Teaching hours will generally be weekdays 4-7pm and weekend mornings, hours may vary by leisure centre.

Once qualified, successful trainees will be employed as paid swimming teachers by Freedom Leisure on a casual or part-time basis. Employment is subject to passing an enhanced DBS check.

You don’t need any prior qualifications to apply as you will be supported through your training, although we are accepting applications from those who are halfway through their swimming teacher training or already have their level 1 or 2 qualifications.
