The academy allows aspiring swimming teachers to receive all their training for only £85, compared to the usual cost of over £1000. It includes a mentor to support your development and you will be matched with an employer.

About

Teaching swimming is an active and rewarding role. Work hours are generally part-time including weekday evenings and weekends. Some weekday term time hours may also be available to support school swimming.

For these roles, there will be the opportunity to work at the following leisure centre:

• Impulse Leisure – Blackshots, Blackshots Lane, Grays, Essex RM16 2JU
• Impulse Leisure – Belhus Park Golf & Country Club, Belhus Park, South Ockendon, Essex RM15 4PX
• Impulse Leisure – Corringham. Springhouse Road, Stanford-le-Hope, Corringham, Essex SS17 7NB

Once qualified, successful trainees will be employed as swimming teachers by Impulse Leisure.

Due to the nature of activities undertaken (i.e. regulated activity with children), this post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.   Successful appointment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate, including an annual renewed Update Service Subscription.

Shortlisted applicants will be given the opportunity to find out more about the swimming teacher opportunity at an informal virtual meet and greet session and interview that will take place after the closing date.

You don’t need any qualifications to apply as you will be supported through your training. However, we are accepting applications from those who are partway through their swimming teacher training or already have their Level 1 or 2 qualifications.
