As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have adapted this qualification and split the theory and practical elements into two courses.
This course covers the practical sessions and assessment and is for those who have already completed their theoretical training including; e-learning, Zoom webinars, all associated session plans and theory assessments.
Your practical sessions will take place at a lake venue.
• During your practical sessions you will develop your skills with the support of your tutor and put the theory you have already learnt into practice. You will be assessed by your tutor who will provide you with feedback so you can develop throughout the day.

The final payment to cover your practical sessions and assessment will be £ 200.
Who is the course designed for?
To attend this course, you must have already completed and passed the theoretical elements of your SEQ Level 2 Coaching Open Water Swimming qualification.
Course content
The course is delivered through a both poolside and open water environment.
You will put the theory you have already learnt into practice and demonstrate:
• Risk assessments for open water venues
• Coaching positions for open water swimming
• Innovative delivery of open water swimming sessions
• Planning for coaching open water swimming including session plans and overviews for different swimmers
• Coaching open water skills
• Session management skills including using different motivational techniques and interpersonal skills with participants

You must be at least 17 years of age at the start of the course.
You must have one of the following qualifications:
Completion of the SEQ Level 2 Coaching Open Water Swimming - Theory Only
Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate (or equivalent)
- 1st 4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Triathlon (QCF)
- SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming and have experience of swimming in an open water environment
Practical
Course times are subject to change. These will be confirmed nearer to the course start date.
This qualification is delivered and assessed in English.
