We have created this combined SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) and Level 2 Teaching Swimming course so that anyone with experience supporting swimming lessons can complete both qualifications side by side.
This course develops your knowledge, skills and abilities as a swimming assistant and teacher. It enables you to independently plan and deliver swimming lessons.
Training format
We have split the theory and practical elements of these qualifications into two courses:
This course is the first half and covers the theory only.
You must attend all sessions and please ensure that you are in a suitable learning environment with strong internet access.
You will need to complete some E learning prior to the first zoom session. The next set of E learning will then be completed between zoom sessions 1 & 2. Please ensure you have time planned in to do this.
During the course, you will also be able to contact your course tutor via email. Your tutor will be using Google classroom to support your learning so you will need to create a google account. You will be guided through this in your first zoom session.
Throughout the sessions, you will need to create lesson plans and overviews which will contribute towards your practical work. This can take 4-6 weeks after the zooms sessions finish. Please do not book your practical to start, before this is completed.
Once you have completed your theoretical training you will then be able to book on to any SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming - Practical Session which will include more course content, your swimming lessons and assessment at the pool. Your tutor will complete the practical assessment for your SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification as part of this.
Course fees
As this qualification is split into theory and practical sessions, we are splitting the course fee into two separate payments.
When you start the course and begin your theory, you will only have to pay £356.
Once you have finished all the theory, you can book your practical sessions and make your final payment of £534.
