Swim England Land Training Swimming Certificate

The course develops knowledge, skills and abilities as a Land Training coach specifically for Swimming. This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to independently plan and deliver land training sessions for age group and youth swimmers.

Blended Learning is a more flexible approach where you complete the theoretical elements of the course via interactive webinars and checks on learning, alongside the practical workshops and assessment.

Who is the course designed for?

A qualified Swim England Swimming Coach who is looking to incorporate Land Training sessions into their programme.

Course delivery format

  • 1 x Zoom webinars - During this session, the tutor will cover set theory topics, which will help to prepare you for practical sessions and provide you with knowledge of key topics.
  • 2 days practical sessions – these will consist of key theory topics in a classroom setting which is aimed to support the practical application and provide learners exercises they are able to undertake for themselves and develop a better understanding in a tutor lead environment.
  • 1 x Zoom webinars - During this session, the tutor will cover new theory topics around Energy systems, injuries and kinetic movement.
  • Practical assessment - learners will be given a specific slot by their tutors where they attend and are practically assessed across a range of exercises.

Learners are also required to complete a number of theoretical questions alongside the practical assessment.

The course is delivered through a mixture of Zoom sessions and practical learning sessions.

Prerequisites

You must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the course.

You must have one of the following qualifications:

ASA Level 2 Coaching Synchronised Swimming or equivalent
ASA Level 2 Coaching Diving or equivalent
ASA Level 2 Coaching Swimming or equivalent
ASA Level 2 Coaching Water Polo or equivalent
