
City of Sheffield crowned as top club to take home Dawdon Shield Trophy
June 28, 2026Day four of the Swim England Diving National Age Group Championships 2026 saw City of Sheffield Diving Club crowned top club as the competition came to a close at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Smethwick.
Sheffield secured the prestigious Dawdon Shield Trophy in style, climbing from fourth place in 2025 to top the standings this year. Their consistent performances throughout the entire competition proved decisive throughout the week.
The club had already sealed the overall title before the final event even got underway, marking a clear reflection of their dominance across the championships, partly with thanks to their divers Sofia Griffiths Williams and Sebastian Karanjit.

The prestigious Malcolm Taylor Award was presented to volunteer Grace Knight, recognising her outstanding contribution to the National Age Group Championships and National Skills Finals.
She also regularly volunteers for the North East region as well as for her local club City of Leeds.

After already having celebrated her 70th birthday on Friday, where City of Leeds prepared a surprise for her, the award is a well-deserved honour, reflecting her dedication and hard work this week.
A range of clubs take gold on final day
The final day saw more impressive performances across, starting with Lily Houzego (Star Diving Club Guildford) taking gold in the Female Group C Platform with 236.95. She was joined on the podium by Swara Suryavanshi and Betsy Crossley, both representing City of Leeds Diving Club.
In the Open Group B 1m, Seb Surry (Southend Diving) added another title with 262.15, following his previous 3m victory. George Storey-Field and Daniel Robinson secured silver and bronze respectively.
Will Heath (Plymouth Diving) delivered another standout performance in the Open Group A Platform, claiming his fourth gold medal of the competition, while Archie Isbell finished just behind in silver. Jamie Lamplugh received a commemorative bronze, with Felix Di Bona taking the official bronze medal position.
Sienna Deakin (Southend Diving) topped the podium in the Female Group D 3m. Eva Gibb earned a commemorative silver, with Lily Billton taking silver and Fearne Hauschild bronze.
Closing out the results with the Female Group C/D 1m Synchro, Lily Billton and Sienna Deakin (Southend Diving) claimed the top spot with a score of 160.44, continuing their strong performances at the championships.
Eva Gibb and Maisie Leslie (Aberdeen Diving Club) followed with 157.08 to earn a commemorative silver, while Ayla Jackson and Orla Gainfort (City of Sheffield Diving Club) secured silver with 156.66. Anna Brinton and Adelyn Richards (Dive London Aquatics Club) completed the podium with 153.33.
