
Griffiths Williams and Soltoianu win second golds on day two
June 26, 2026Day two of the Swim England Diving National Age Group Championships 2026 saw standout performances and repeat success stories take centre stage, as several divers added to their medal tallies in an increasingly competitive field.
One of the headline moments came from Sofia Griffiths Williams (City of Sheffield Diving Club), who secured her second gold medal of the championships. Having already topped the podium in the Female Group B 1m on day one, she returned to win the Female Group B Platform with a score of 230.30, underlining her consistency across disciplines.
Southampton Diving Academy also enjoyed a strong day, with Kayla Segun producing an assured performance to take the Female Group A Platform title (260.70), adding to the club’s growing medal haul across the weekend.
In the men’s events, Jared Hull (Dive London Aquatics Club) claimed top spot in the Open Group C 3m (228.70), while Southend Diving’s Seb Surry delivered a great dive to take gold in the Open Group B 3m (256.15) adding to the club’s success from yesterday.
There was further success for divers building on momentum from day one, with Leonard Soltoianu (Corby Steel Diving Club) adding an individual gold in the Open Group D 1m with his score of 179.10. His victory followed the synchro success on the opening day alongside City of Sheffield’s Sebastian Karanjit, marking a strong championships so far for the Corby diver.
The Open Group A 1m provided one of the closest contests of the day, with Will Heath (Plymouth Diving) taking gold with 284.05 in a tight competition that also saw Jamie Lamplugh (Edinburgh Diving Club) awarded a commemorative gold after achieving the top overall score (284.80).
Rosie-Mei Dolman (Southampton Diving Academy) claimed gold in the Female Group C 1m (197.35), while other podium finishes across events continued to be shared among clubs including City of Sheffield, Plymouth Diving, and Star Diving Club Guildford.
The final event of the day, the Female Group D 1m, saw five podium places awarded. Maisie Leslie (Aberdeen Diving Club) recorded the highest score of 169.50 to earn a commemorative gold, while Lily Billton (Southend Diving) secured the national title with 162.95.
Lois Wilkinson (Sandwell Diving Club) took silver on 154.10 and Fearne Hauschild (City of Sheffield Diving Club) claimed bronze with 148.30. Eva Gibb (Aberdeen Diving Club) was also recognised with a commemorative bronze after scoring 162.20.
With multiple divers now emerging as double medallists and the event has reached half-time, the championships continue to build momentum heading into day three tomorrow.
