Dixon and Williams win Platform Synchro silver in Bergen

Matthew Dixon and Noah Williams won Platform Synchro silver to round off a successful day for the British team at the European Junior Diving Championships 2017.

After individual medals for Louise Bradley and Wales’ Aiden Heslop, Dixon and Williams won GB’s third synchro medal in as many days.

Scarlett Mew Jensen and Yasmin Harper had kicked off the medal charge for the Brits with 3m Synchro bronze on day two in Norway.

Ruby Bower and Phoebe Banks then went one better in the girls’ Platform Synchro, taking silver.

And Dixon and Williams secured the same result with a composed performance in Bergen.

English pair add continental junior medal to senior honours

Like Bower and Banks, the English pair came into the event off the back of a medal at the senior European Championships, winning bronze in Kiev earlier in June.

And it took an impressive performance from Russia’s Ruslan Ternovoi and Maksim Malofeev to stop Dixon and Williams claiming the junior crown.

The Russians ultimately finished on 350.75 while Plymouth’s Dixon and Dive London’s Williams scored 344.28.
