Golden double for Albatross on day three of NAGs

Lauren Saunders and Ollie Breach made it a golden double for Albatross Diving Club Reading on day three of the Swim England National Age Group Championships.

Breach performed consistently throughout the Boys’ Group A Platform event. His final dive, a forward armstand 2 somersault in pike scored 50.40 points to take his total to 300.10.

Sam Rudd, who got gold in the Boys’ Group A 1m Springboard yesterday, finished second for Dacorum Diving Club with a score of 293.00 while Nat Connolly from Luton got bronze for 235.80.

Earlier in the day, Saunders, took the title in the Girls’ Group D 3m Springboard final with a score of 176.25. This is her second gold of the competition having previously won the Girls Group D 1m Springboard event.

Saunders performed two stand out dives, a reverse dive in pike and an inward 1 1/2 somersault in pike, both scoring her 38.00 points and 38.85 points respectively.

Second position went to Kitty Smith, from Crystal Palace Diving Club, who finished on 162.45 points while City of Leeds diver, Jaeda Sharman, came third with a score of 157.05.

Bradescu eases to victory

Crystal Palace’s Anna Bradescu was head and shoulders above the rest in the Girls’ Group A Platform event. Her highest scoring dive was a forward 3 1/2 somersault that received 58.50 points. She finished with 291.95 points.

Nadia Todor-Ward from Southend Diving was 31.20 points behind Bradescu with a score of 260.75 while Elizabeth Cullen came third with 257.65 points.

Big win for Southampton Diving Academy

In the Girls’ Group C 1m Springboard event, Southampton Diving Academy’s Dulcie Wilson won by over 30 points. Her inward 1 1/2 somersault in pike scored her 38.50 points and took her total up to 233.45.

Second place went to Crystal Palace’s Millie Taylor, who finished with 201.30 points, while bronze went to Libby Eliza Mitson, from City of Leeds Diving Club, with a score of 199.20.
