Louise Bradley claims first European Junior medal

Louise Bradley won 1m Springboard bronze to land Great Britain’s first individual medal of the 2017 European Junior Diving Championships in Bergen.

The Crystal Palace diver finished on 328.10 after the final of the Group B to mark her European Junior debut with a podium finish.

Bradley came into the event as British Junior champion, having won 1m gold and Platform silver in Plymouth in April.

And the 15-year old took her international debut in her stride, improving from sixth after the prelim to finish less than two points behind Russia’s silver medallist Uliana Kliueva (329.55).

Waxman and Brown make individual finals

City of Bradford Esprit’s Holly Waxman is also making her European Junior debut in Norway, and finished a narrow fourth in the same event.

The 14-year old, who won bronze behind Bradley at the British Junior Nationals, finished on 320.50.

Plymouth Diving’s Alfie Brown improved on his sixth in the boys’ Group B 1m as he placed fifth in the Platform.

The English diver scored 404.10 after the final, while Plymouth teammate, Wales’ Aiden Heslop, won bronze on 406.25.
