About Robyn Birch

Before specialising in diving, Birch was a world class artistic gymnast and competed at the European Championships in 2009 and World Championships in 2010.

Her major diving breakthrough came the following year as she won Group A Platform gold at the British Elite Junior Championships then finished fifth in the same event and age group at the European Juniors.

She retained her title in 2012 then won her first individual senior national medal with 10m Platform bronze at the British National Cup in 2014.

Birch showed her senior international pedigree in 2015, winning 10m Synchro bronze with Georgia Ward at the FINA Grand Prix in Gatineau, Canada, then upgrading to silver with the same partner at the European Championships in Rostock.

She won her first British medal for an individual event at the 2017 British Diving Championships, claiming bronze in the women’s 10m Platform. Later that season, Birch made her World Championship debut, reaching the semi-finals in the individual 10m event as well as competing in the Team competition.

The following season, Birch made her Commonwealth debut for England, finishing fifth in the 10m Synchro with Lois Toulson, and eighth in the 10m Platform.
