This eLearning refreshes your knowledge gained from the Swim England Safeguarding course, and reflects Wavepower, Swim England’s safeguarding policy.

This Refresher gives an overview of what safeguarding and child protection means and how to apply this in the practical situation of a club activity, an update on key legislation in relation to safeguarding, how to recognise types, signs and symptoms of abuse and importantly how to react and respond to an individual who has a concern.

The additional module focusing on Creating a Safe and Proactive Culture is required to complete the Refresher course.

Who is the course designed for?

To complete this eLearning refresher, you must hold the Swim England Safeguarding certificate. This course should be taken before your certificate expires. If your Swim England Safeguarding certificate is over 3 years old, you will need to attend a full Swim England Safeguarding course.

This refresher is for swimming teachers, coaches and other personnel working within aquatics activities. It is a mandatory requirement for swimming teachers, coaches and club personnel within Swim England affiliated clubs or activities and is an integral part of the Club Affiliation process.

Delivery format

The eLearning will take you approximately 1.5 hours to complete and includes interactive activities and knowledge checks throughout. Please ignore the course start date. You can begin your eLearning as soon as you are booked on.
