RPL is an assessment only route you can take to gain a Swim England Assistant Swimming Coach and Swim England Swimming Coach certificate if you already possess the skills and knowledge needed.
Prior to booking on to this programme you will need to complete an initial assessment. If you successfully pass this stage you will then be able to book your place.
You will be asked to provide relevant and sufficient evidence that you meet the criteria laid out in the certificate specification. Those who decide to join RPL are given 7 weeks to gather their evidence and upload it to their workspace; this will include videoing yourself coaching participants so please make sure you have their permission beforehand.

Who is RPL designed for?
Anyone who already has experience of coaching swimmers and can provide evidence of meeting the certificate specification without tutor support or learning resources.

You must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the course.
You must have one of the following qualifications:
You will have experience of working as an assistant coach and must have a good level of English, with both written and verbal communication skills.
Practical
As part of your assessment, you must be able to provide video footage of yourself coaching to the correct level and type of swimmers. Please make sure you have permission to film before booking. You will need to upload all your evidence within 7 weeks and gaining permission from facilities and participant can cause delays.
