Durham and Sheffield Hallam lift UPolo titles

Durham and Sheffield Hallam claimed the men’s and women’s titles respectively at the UPolo British Championships finals in Cardiff.

North East champions Durham were the toast of the men’s event in South Wales as their first team scooped the men’s cup and their second team landed the men’s shield, contested by teams from the regional second divisions.

Victory rounded off a superb season for Durham, having also won both the women’s and men’s BUCS Championships earlier in 2015.

Sheffield Hallan win women's Upolo title 2015The women’s national title also went to the BUCS champions as Sheffield Hallam – who have won the BUCS title for the past two years – took gold.

The North Division champions went unbeaten through the finals weekend as they secured wins over Cambridge, Warwick and York before a 6-3 defeat of hosts Cardiff in the final.

The women’s shield went to North East Division 2 champions Leeds Beckett.
