Second place for English Roses at European Masters Championships

The English Roses Water Polo Club came second in the Women’s over 35 age group at the 2018 European Masters Championships.

The team won two out of their four matches to give them six points. The squad were up against Stepp Praha of Czech Republic who took the gold medal and SG Wasserball Essen of Germany who came third.

The team lost their first match against Stepp Praha (3-8) but won their second against SG Wasserball Essen in a close contest (7-6).

They came up against both teams a second time, against Stepp Praha they lost 2-6 and they beat SG Wasserball Essen for a second time scoring five goals to their three.

A British clash in the Women’s over 30 age group

There were two British teams represented in the Women’s over 30 age group, Rose Buds Water Polo Club and City of Sheffield Water Polo Club.

City of Sheffield came sixth overall while Rose Buds finished in seventh place. The two teams came up against each other on the penultimate day of competition. City of Sheffield came out on top with a final score of 11-3.
