Sheffield Hallam University Water Polo Scholarship

Map of Sheffield HallamWater polo is one of the largest sports clubs at Sheffield Hallam University. The university has both men’s and women’s teams which compete in BUCS and U-Polo competitions. In 2016, the women’s team won the BUCS title while the men’s team won bronze.

Sheffield Hallam University offer funding for junior or senior international athletes through their Performance Athlete Support Programme.

Sheffield Hallam University Water Polo Scholarships

Water polo players competing at junior or senior international level are eligible to apply for a Sheffield Hallam University Water Polo Scholarship.

Sheffield Hallam’s Performance Athlete Support Programme is designed to support talented student athletes, allowing them to balance your university life and achieve their sporting potential.

Athletes receiving a Sheffield Hallam University Water Polo Scholarship will receive a bursary of up to £6,000. This is to help with costs such as course fees, accommodation fees, sport science support and competition expenses.

The support programme also includes free physiotherapy, performance athlete kit, access to workshops focusing on sporting lifestyle, sports psychology and sports nutrition, and unlimited to access to the full range of university sports facilities and programmes.

Sports scholars may also be allowed flexibility over their academic study to ensure they are able to compete in key events.

Sports Facilities at Sheffield Hallam University

Sheffield Hallam University has full gym facilities based at both their City Campus, close to the learning facilities and student union, and the Collegiate Campus, about a mile out of city centre.

The City Campus facility has a cardio fitness suite with Life Fitness equipment, free weights and a spinning area while the Collegiate Campus also has cardio, resistance and free weight areas as well as a state-of-the-art strength and conditioning suite.

The water polo club train and compete at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, featuring a 25m or 50m pool with movable floors.
