The University of Leeds has men’s and women’s water polo teams who compete in BUCS and UPolo competitions.
The water polo clubs compete and train at the university’s dedicated sports centre, The Edge, while scholarships are available for athletes with the potential to compete on the international stage.

University of Leeds Water Polo Scholarships
Athletes competing at, or showing the potential to compete at, international level are eligible to apply for a University of Leeds Water Polo Scholarship.
The university’s elite sports scholarship packages are tailored to suit the needs of each individual athlete and will involve a bespoke financial offer.
Standard benefits included are strength and conditioning, physio, and personal development support, complimentary kit and access to an academic liaison officer.
Athletes with a University of Leeds Water Polo Scholarship will also receive full complimentary premium membership to the university’s sports facilities.
Sports Facilities at the University of Leeds
The University of Leeds’ sport facilities are largely based at The Edge – a £12.5 million fitness, sport and wellbeing facility.
The Edge features a 250-station Technogym, free weights and benches. The gym equipment includes machines from the Artis and Omnia ranges while all equipment is connected to the MyWellness cloud platform.
Swimming at The Edge is in the eight-lane 25m pool with movable floor while there is also a sauna and steam room on site. The water polo teams train and compete in this facility.
