University of Surrey Water Polo Scholarship

The University of Surrey is based in Guildford has a thriving water polo club with men’s and women’s teams in BUCS and UPolo competitions.
The university offer support through their High Performance scheme, which is eligible to top level athletes from any sport.

University of Surrey Water Polo Scholarships
Talented players may be eligible for a University of Surrey Water Polo Scholarship if they have competed at international, national or regional level.
Water polo players would not be eligible for the top two levels of sports scholarship at the University of Surrey, which are reserved for athletes in UK Sport-funded sports.
However, talented players are encouraged to apply for a place on the High Performance Athlete Support Scheme, where they would receive a range of support but no financial bursary.
Support services may include strength and conditioning, physiotherapy and massage, physiological testing, performance workshops and nutritional advice.
Sports Facilities at the University of Surrey
Athletes with a University of Surrey Water Polo Scholarship would receive free access to all the facilities at Surrey Sports Park.
Surrey Sports Park is a £36m elite training venue at the University of Surrey offering world class sports and events facilities.
Situated 30 minutes outside London and close to Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, the Park hosted 16 Olympic and Paralympic teams for pre-London 2012 training camps including GB Basketball, Singapore, USA Triathlon and Chinese Synchronised Swimming.
The fitness suite includes a 120-station gym with nine lifting platforms, a Life Fitness Synergy 360 system and multiple PowerMill machines. There is also a range of Life Fitness cardio and weight equipment, Concept2 rowing machines, two PowerPlates and extensive strength and conditioning area.
The University of Surrey swimming pool is also based at the Sport Park and is an eight-lane 50m Olympic sized pool with a transversable boom and movable floor.
