Luke Greenbank won his third title on day four of the British Gas ASA National Youth, MC and Open Championships in Sheffield.
The Cockermouth swimmer, who won European Junior gold over 200m Backstroke earlier this summer, set a personal best 2:02.44 to take the touch in the 15/16 Yrs 200m Butterfly.
Greenbank had already taken the 100m Butterfly and 200m Backstroke titles and will start his challenge for fourth gold in the 100m Backstroke tomorrow.
Plymouth Leander’s double Commonwealth gold medallist Ben Proud was also in action on day four, smashing his personal best to claim the 19 Yrs / Over 100m Freestyle title.
The 19-year old ducked under 49 seconds for the first time in his career, beating his previous personal best of 49.41 to take victory in 48.88 ahead of Canada’s Stefan Milosevic (50.35).
Plymouth Leander’s Lithuanian Olympic gold medallist Ruta Meilutyte was also celebrating on day four after claiming a golden double, winning 17/18 Yrs 100m Freestyle gold in 55.17 before helping the Plymouth 4x200m Freestyle Relay quartet to gold in 8:08.73.
