Devon county swimming team for the ASA National County Team Championships

Devon’s spell in Division One lasted just one season as they finished 18th last year to drop straight back down to Division Two.

A lack of race wins in 2015 means Andrea Todorovic (12/13 Yrs 100m Breaststroke) and Tegan Drew (12/13 Yrs 100m Backstroke) are the last swimmers from the county to collect maximum points from their individual races two years ago.

But with another strong Devon squad named for this year’s event, you wouldn’t bet against the Southern county from bouncing straight back up to the top flight.

Mount Kelly’s Ollie Taverner won the 15 Yrs 50m and 100m Breaststroke double at this year’s British Summer Champs and will be a tough nut to crack in the 14/15 Yrs 100m Breast.

Teammate Kaylee Dekker also comes into the event as British Summer Champs gold medallist, having won the 13/14 Yrs 100m Freestyle title in Sheffield earlier this year.

Edward Maddocks made the finals of both the 50m and 100m Freestyle at the same meet while Benjamin Staig’s short course PB 55.30 puts him at the top of the entries for the 16/17 Yrs 100m Back.
