Essex ASA County Team Champs

Former champions Essex bounced back to the top flight last year, securing promotion for the second time in three seasons.

James Cooper led the way 12 months ago with maximum points in the 12/13 Yrs 100m Free and second place in the 100m Fly.

George Epsly also picked up maximum points in the 16/17 Yrs 100m Fly while the girls’ 16/17 Yrs Medley relay quartet landed their third win of the day.

Basildon Phoenix swimmer Cooper returns in the 14/15 Yrs age group this time round, having finished fourth in the 13/14 Yrs 100m Backstroke at this year’s British Summer Championships.

Colchester’s Martha Duley returns for her final County Team Champs, having finished second in the 100m Backstroke last year. She was sixth over 50m Back in the 17/18 Yrs age group at this year’s British Summer Championships.

Romford Town’s Lewis Binning is among Essex’s newcomers to keep an eye on. He was the fourth fastest 13-year old over 100m Fly at this year’s British Summer Champs. He also won a double over 200m Free and 200m IM in the 13/14 Yrs age group at the ASA Summer Nationals.
